A global springboard for hydrogen deals and project developments – that is how the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition at Ahoy Rotterdam describes itself. With 11,500 decision makers, Energy Ministers, and CEOs from over 100 countries who attend the summit annually, that claim is surely valid. It is a great environment to drive the hydrogen economy forward.
Food and discussion at our pre-exhibition network event
We organized a delegation tour to this year’s summit on May 14, 2024. However, the professional exchange on hydrogen solutions and ideas already started the evening before when our start-ups from SPRINT batch #5 and other start-ups from the #HYDROVERSE, along with corporate and network partners of the H2UB, mingled in a pre-exhibition network event. The food was good but became secondary when paired with avid discussions about the future of the H2 economy. A great kick off not only for the start-ups of our current SPRINT batch, for which the World Hydrogen Summit was part of their program.

Our delegation tour included stops at the booths of H2UB partners such as RWE, Uniper and Hydrogen Metropole Ruhr as well as other important players in the hydrogen industry like thyssenkrupp nucera, MSA, Business Finland, Vopak and Women in Green Hydrogen. One of our highlight was the meet-up with Silke Krebs, state secretary of North Rhine-Westphalia.
After the tour, we received encouraging feedback for including the World Hydrogen Summit in our SPRINT interim days. This is why we are planning to incorporate visits to other hydrogen events into our accelerator programs. As it happens, the visit to the Hydrogen Technology Conference & Expo Europe in Hamburg on October 23, 2024 is already scheduled for our next SPRINT batch in fall.
